Rockin' Around the Christmas Trees
During advent, families open up their homes to nature and hand pick their very own Yule Tree to mark the first days of Christmas. We follow tradition and decorate these evergreen beauties with figs, baubles and fairy lights, adorning our front doors with holy, ivy (and maybe some mistletoe) all to set the scene for a warm and happy holiday. On the 16th of November, The Botanics will light up the tallest tree in their own Garden – a poplar that is nearly 100 feet tall – to welcome you to the festivities.
The winter season at the Royal Botanical Garden Edinburgh provides a magnificent backdrop for any Christmas event and the John Hope Gateway is one of the most flexible and dramatic party spaces in the city. Once lit, the space is totally transformed from its daytime guise. The combination of the atmospheric architecture and its organic beauty will make anybody feel merry and bright this Christmas.
Look no further for the perfect Christmas party venue. Guests will be welcomed into the venue with a glass of bubbly amongst the inspiring exhibits and Victorian Christmas displays. At the call for dinner, guests move upstairs to the dining space where they will enjoy a delicious three course dinner from award winning caterers, all served on beautifully dressed tables. As night falls, their excellent DJ promises to have you up on your feet partying the night away for an unforgettably jolly night.
Throughout December, there will be many events taking place at the Botanics including Christmas walks, choral performances and wreath or table decoration classes. The shop has a Dickensian theme and will be selling a variety of exciting Christmas gifts. Tis the season to embrace green beauties so why not buy something completely different and consider a young Monkey Puzzle tree or a Wollemi pine tree to pad out the stocking.
