Five of Titian’s greatest works, his epic series of large-scale mythological paintings, known as the poesie , together for the first time since 1704.
The Private View Package includes:
A rare opportunity to have exclusive access to privately view Titian’s large-scale mythological paintings known as the poesie, on display this summer at the National Galleries of Scotland.
Commissioned by Philip II of Spain and painted between about 1550 and 1562, the poesie are among the most original visual interpretations of Classical myth of the early modern era. They are touchstone works in the history of European painting for their rich, expressive rendering. Five from the original series of six paintings have not been displayed together since 1704.
Your guests will enjoy drinks and canapes prior to the viewing whilst an art expert introduces them to the works of this most influential of painters from history.
- After the special introduction guests will be free to enjoy a private view of the exhibition .
